This beautiful Elizabeth Stone quote has always resonated deeply with me, and has even more meaning now my little one has started pre-school and he’s away from us for chunks of time during the day, for the first time. We knew it meant a big adjustment for him, but I’m surprised at how difficult it has been for my partner and me, too.
What are your favourite parenting quotes? I also love these Kurt Vonnegut words –
“Hello babies. Welcome to Earth. It’s hot in the summer and cold in the winter. It’s round and wet and crowded. On the outside, babies, you’ve got a hundred years here. There’s only one rule that I know of, babies – God damn it, you’ve got to be kind.”
